Advantage Digital Round VAV Diffuser (ADVR)

The Acutherm ADVR is a round Advantage digital VAV diffuser that combines precise electronic airflow control with a clean, circular architectural appearance. A built-in room sensor, microprocessor controller, and low-voltage motor modulate airflow to maintain space setpoint, while the round plaque diffuser provides excellent induction and throw over the full operating range.

Description

Product Model ADVR — Advantage Digital Round VAV Diffuser
  • Model: ADVR — Round digital VAV diffuser (Advantage family)
  • Face Size: 24" (600 mm) round plaque diffuser
  • Inlet Sizes: 6", 8", 10", and 12" round
  • Construction: Steel housing with powder-coated round face and aerodynamic damper assembly
How It Works
  • A room temperature sensor sends continuous feedback to a microprocessor controller mounted at the diffuser.
  • The controller uses space temperature, inlet/supply air temperature, and setpoint to modulate the electric damper.
  • Digital PI (Proportional + Integral) control provides smooth, stable temperature control without hunting or overshoot.
  • Damper and plaque design maintain discharge velocities as the diffuser modulates, providing consistent throw and room mixing.
Key Features
  • Round, plaque-style face blends with circular ceiling and duct layouts.
  • Individual zone control at each diffuser for improved comfort and flexibility.
  • Fast response to load changes thanks to direct digital control and high-torque motor.
  • Compatible with optional BACnet interface for integration with building automation systems (Advantage family option).
  • Can be used with “drone” diffusers that follow a master ADVR for multi-diffuser zones.
Accessories & Options (Advantage Family)
  • APM – Advantage Power Module: Central 24 VAC power supply for multiple Advantage diffusers.
  • ARC – Advantage Relief Collar: Pressure-relief collar to bypass excess static into the ceiling plenum.
  • PIM – Pressure Independence Module: For pressure-independent operation under varying static conditions.
  • DMS – Diffuser Measuring Station: Flow measurement option for CFM monitoring and BAS reporting.
  • BACnet Interface: Optional interface for room temperature, setpoint, and load visibility at the BAS.

ADVR uses the same Advantage digital control platform as ADV and ADVB, with a round architectural face to match circular ceiling and ductwork designs.

Quick Specs

  • Face Size: 24" (600 mm) round plaque diffuser
  • Inlet Sizes: 6", 8", 10", 12" round
  • Actuation: Low-voltage, high-torque electric motor with direct drive
  • Control: Digital microprocessor using PI control for stable room temperature
  • Thermostat / Sensor: Room temperature sensor at diffuser for continuous feedback
  • Recommended Static: Keep duct static ≤ 0.25 in. wg at diffuser inlet for quiet performance
  • Power: 24 VAC (typ. ~3 VA per diffuser; see APM documentation for multi-unit supply)
  • Construction: Steel housing and round face, powder-coated finish, aerodynamic damper
  • Applications: Offices, open ceilings, and spaces where a round diffuser aesthetic is preferred
