Advantage Digital Linear VAV Diffuser (ADVL)
The Acutherm ADVL is a linear Advantage digital VAV diffuser that combines electronic airflow control with a slim, architectural slot diffuser profile. A built-in room sensor, microprocessor controller, and low-voltage motor modulate airflow to maintain the space setpoint, while the linear discharge provides excellent mixing, throw, and ceiling integration.

Description
- Model: ADVL — Linear digital VAV diffuser (Advantage family)
- Form Factor: Linear slot diffuser for lay-in or continuous runs
- Typical Lengths: Nominal 2 ft, 3 ft, 4 ft, and 5 ft sections (consult submittal for details)
- Slots / Blow Patterns: Multi-slot configurations with 1-way or 2-way linear discharge
- Construction: Steel or extruded aluminum linear face with integrated damper and control assembly
- A room temperature sensor provides continuous feedback to a microprocessor controller located at the diffuser.
- The controller uses room temperature, inlet/supply temperature, and setpoint to modulate the low-voltage motorized damper.
- Linear discharge pattern maintains strong Coanda effect and consistent throw along the ceiling at part-load conditions.
- PI (Proportional + Integral) control delivers stable room temperature without hunting or overshoot.
- Clean linear aesthetic ideal for modern ceilings and perimeter lines of diffusers.
- Individual zone control at each diffuser or group of diffusers using the Advantage digital control platform.
- High-induction discharge maintains comfort even at low airflows.
- Compatible with “drone” units following a master ADVL for multi-diffuser zones (Advantage family feature).
- Optional BACnet interface (Advantage family) allows sharing of room temperature, setpoint, and load with a BAS.
- APM – Advantage Power Module: Central 24 VAC power module for multiple Advantage diffusers.
- ARC – Advantage Relief Collar: Bypass relief to ceiling plenum for excess duct static.
- PIM – Pressure Independence Module: For pressure-independent performance under varying upstream static.
- DMS – Diffuser Measuring Station: Airflow measurement option for commissioning and BAS integration.
- BACnet Interface: Optional interface to building automation systems (Advantage series option).
ADVL uses the same Advantage digital control platform as ADV, ADVB, and ADVR, with a linear slot face to align with architectural ceiling designs and perimeter diffusers.
